The Floow To Represent Telematics Sector On Prime Minister’s Trip To Asia Business Tour To Promote UK’s Expanding Technology Sector To South East Asian Market
Telematics organisation The Floow is amongst just 30 British businesses chosen to accompany Prime Minister David Cameron on a trip to South East Asia this week in a bid to promote the UK’s fast-expanding financial technology sector.
The delegates on the tour, which include some of the UK’s most prominent businesses including insurance group Aviva, Airbus UK, Balfour Beatty and JCB, flew out yesterday evening and are scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on the first leg of their tour later today.
Identified as a world leading hub for telematics data management,The Floow is an independent company operating without geographical boundaries from its base in Sheffield;currently supporting major global Insurers- including Direct Line Group, RSA, AIG, and AAA– through(a) device-agnostic predictive analytics and (b) digital end-user services that increase customer loyalty.
The business has also built a reputation for excellence in the multi-faceted use of telematics data; for example working in partnership with theUniversity of Sheffield, and in coordination with the European Space Agency, to provide insights into air pollution in South Yorkshire.
The Floow’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Aldo Monteforte, said the multi-stop tour is an ‘incredible opportunity to build links with both private and public sector guests in each location’ with a view to ‘complementing’ the company’s existing client base and recent expansion in the strategically crucial Chinese market.
Over the coming days the delegates will visit Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia as part of Mr Cameron’s efforts to accelerate the growing exports of the UK’s financial technology sector, as was outlined in the Government’s productivity plan this month.
Commenting on the trip Mr Monteforte said: “Over the last three years The Floow has become the trusted provider of telematics data services to some of the world’s most prominent Insurers; leading the way in the telematics sector by delivering actionable insight into driver behaviour from an economic, safety and environmental perspective.
“Through data – contextually enriched after capture from any telematics sensing device -our team delivers scores with demonstrably superior predictive power, advancingthe insurance industry’s risk managementfrontier.
“Also because of these developments the UK is now seen as a leading global force in telematics data management, and this trip provides the opportunity to showcase the benefits of our technology to the growing South East Asian market.
“Over the coming week I am looking forward to meeting both public and private sector representatives with a view to demonstrating how The Floow can support accurate insurance pricing, greater road safety and more cost-effective driving; as well how telematics data can helpmonitoringmotor vehicle pollution in the region.”
During the trip Mr Monteforte will also join with the Northern Powerhouse delegation who are part of an official visit to Singapore and Malaysia at an event led by Rt Hon SajidJavid MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, and attended by around 500 guests from across the Singaporean business community.
