Local Startup Matchitude Rethinks Recruitment

Matchitude_logoLocal businessman and founder of Jenx Ltd. started by looking for a new employee and along the way dreamed up a new way to recruit. Clive Jenkins had become disillusioned with current recruitment options, feeling that they were slow, expensive and didn’t give enough control to the employer. He wanted a place online where he could find and compare potential candidates instantly, without the need to write an advert and wait for responses. When he couldn’t find such an option, he set about creating one and Matchitude was born.

Matchitude is a Sheffield-based startup available to all employers and job seekers but with special focus on the areas of Tech, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing. “Matchitude turns the traditional candidate selection process around,” explains Director Rebekah McClinchey, “Instead of employers posting job ads, candidates post an anonymous prospectus saying what they have to offer and what they are looking for; then employers can contact them”. Sign up for candidates is quick and simple and candidates remain anonymous until they accept a contact request from a potential employer. Employers can search all the prospecti and pay a low, one-off fee when they choose to contact an individual. Both sides benefit from the candidate being free to say exactly what they want to do without reference to a job advert and the speed at which introductions can be made.
