SAGE Greenfingers Welcomes New Director for 2018
Entering its 19th year, SAGE Greenfingers is a charity based in Pitsmoor, Sheffield, which uses horticultural and creative arts therapies to support people with mental health difficulties. Groups run four days a week (5 in the summer months), 50 weeks of the year, at local venues and three allotment sites in Grimesthorpe.
2018 has been a busy year already for the team in which they have welcomed a new Director. Richard Wade joins SAGE with the aim to continue the fantastic work of his predecessor Diana Tottle who managed the organisation for 10 years. With a background in further education and skills sector, Richard is also an active member of the Scouts and is responsible for training and development at a national level. Inspired by this new energy and creativity, the team are planning a range of events and fundraising opportunities alongside the weekly group activities that are continuing to grow in regular members.
SAGE are also delighted to continue their partnership with Sheffield based company and Chamber of Commerce member, True North Brew Co. As head office charity of the year, SAGE will be working with True North on local events including Sheffield’s Food Week, Pie Week and bespoke events at individual venues.
SAGE is excited to be working with MIKRON theatre company who will be performing a play in SAGE’s grounds on June 6th 2018. SAGE’s women only singing group have inspired a large scale event which will see 4 choirs from across Sheffield join forces to ‘Sing Away the Blues’ at a large concert around Christmas time. SAGE is currently looking for business sponsors for the event to collaborate with on what is set to be an excellent publicity and fundraising opportunity
