Blue Cross week

Blue Cross Week that takes place between October 7th and 13th isn’t your run of the mill charity event. Now in its 3rd year, the week sees individuals, groups and companies join the teams of staff and volunteers from Blue Cross including those at the local Sheffield rehoming centre, to fundraise and make a difference to pets in need.

Whether it’s an office wearing blue for a day or a group of friends holding a quiz night, there are so many different and creative ways which our supporters got involved last year as they helped us to raise an incredible £32,000!

In fact not even our CEO and executive team wanted to miss out on the excitement last year as they took part in challenges set by teams at rehoming centres, shops and offices across the country. They took part in sports day style races at the offices in Oxfordshire, competed in a special pet themed supermarket sweep in Swindon, contested quizzes in Southampton, cleaned dog kennels in the rehoming centres and even played the part of a mannequin in one of our Birmingham charity shop windows!

It was a fantastic year for fundraising but with a continued rise in demand for our services caused by unscrupulous breeders, impulsive online sales and a worsening financial situation across many parts of the country, we need all the help we can get to make sure we are able to help pets in need. Whether it’s homeless kittens, abandoned dogs, neglected horses or unwanted rabbits, Blue Cross aim to be there to give every pet the chance to live a healthy life in a happy home.

That’s why this year, Blue Cross Week is back and we hope it will be even bigger and better as we aim to raise £50,000 to allow us to continue to change the lives of pets for the better. A target that we hope we can hit with the help of businesses like yours.

From running to baking, fancy dress to quizzes there are so many ways you get involved and change a life during Blue Cross Week.
