Charles H Coward Ltd – “The times they are a changing”

From the traditional industrial back streets of Sheffield to our modern facility on the edge of the city, as the great Bob Dylan once said “the times they are a changin” and this could not be closer to the truth for us here at Charles H Coward Ltd.

SWFC Directors PlaqueOver the years the company has been entrusted to run with some fantastic projects which has helped propel the company into its strong current position, from table top silverware for Harrods and the Sultan of Brunei to service medals for the UK governments and more recently fine art commissions for show in the Tate Modern and one closer to home and heart a solid bronze club crest for Sheffield Wednesday FC to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the club.

On to 2019 and it has been another successful yet fast moving year for our family owned business, we have once again had a year of growth which makes that 11 years on the bounce.

As a company we are still expanding further with full details due to be released very early in the New Year and have a completed a number of changes to the general appearance of our company which have felt long due.

LOGOSo we’ve laid down some new milestones:

  • New company logo and branding to promote not only the main company but also the Group of Companies we are.
  • New signage at our facility to update our look and promote our “Made in Sheffield” status giving us a fresh face more modern outlook.
  • Winning our first ever award with the Excellence in Manufacturing through Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber
  • New improved website to incorporate the appearance changes and more importantly to showcase all aspects of our business and the work we produce.

Now we look at these new markers as tweaks rather than changes as we’re strong believers of “if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it” – but then again we are very far from being a static business.

We have continued growth and continued our reinvestment programme by bringing in new plant and equipment to further improve both our production output and to give our highly skilled team the tools they require for our work to fulfil all its potential, as well as this we have also spent on new air filtration and dust extraction and have now fully implemented yearly occupational health checks to give our team the best possible working environment.

These investments have once again improved working conditions for everyone here as well as further modernising our facility and increasing our manufacturing capacity yet further.
