Learning from Disney

Another year of planning is over and the success of the RE:Inventing Business Economy Summit was there for all who attended to see.

Over 350 delegates attended the City Hall on the 18th June and the lessons learnt from Pittsburgh, Bilbao and Dusseldorf were invaluable.

The main focus from all of the speakers was around people, the essential ingredients for any successful business. No one hammered that message home harder than the final speaker Sid Joynson, a true Yorkshireman with a Scottish mother.

Having worked around the world studying motivation and process techniques, Sid's stories delighted the audience. Having worked with the Disney Corporation for a number of years, Sid asked "Has anyone been to Disney?"... "Did you see how much money we took off you!".... "You were having so much fun, you didn't even notice!".

Delighting the customer is essential in these economic times of increased competition and increased expectation.

Sid enjoyed his time so much in Sheffield last week, he has promised to return in the near future to share more of his success stories.

Now the planning starts for 2010 to what will hope will become the annual showcase business event for the North of England.
