Share and share alike…
Sheffield is linking up with other Chambers of Commerce to share knowledge and expertise.

Policy and representation manager Helen Rana and policy and research officer Tracey Williams are continuing to meet Chambers from across Yorkshire to compare and contrast best practice, ideas for lobbying and services for members.

Daniel Fell, head of policy at Doncaster Chamber, is in the process of setting up some representative forums and was keen to learn how Sheffield Chamber’s forums are managed and co-ordinated.

Additionally, Daniel shared ideas for making policy and representation web pages more helpful and appealing.

Bradford Chamber’s head of policy, Mike Cartwright, talked about the different forums in the Leeds and Bradford area, while the Sheffield duo revealed how they represent local businesses through their forums and the media.

Helen said: “These visits were both part of our ongoing commitment to learning from our counterparts in other Chambers to ensure that Sheffield Chamber members receive top-quality lobbying and representation as a free benefit of their membership.”

The ideas shared at the visits will be implemented soon.
