Sheffield Chamber members offered Legends football deal

Members of the Sheffield Chambers of Commerce are being invited to take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer by organisers of the England v Germany Legends game which takes place at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane Stadium on the evening of Thursday August 7th and will be screened live on ITV4.

England v Germany: The Legends Live will be played to aid The British Red Cross China Earthquake Appeal and for The Derek Dooley Memorial Cup. Confirmed England names are striker Stan Collymore, midfielders Paul Merson and Lee Sharpe alongside Sheffield Legends Brian Deane and Des Walker. The first nine Germany names includes four World Cup winners. Premiership supporters will recognise the likes of Bolton’s Fredi Bobic and Spurs/Leicester midfielder Steffen Freund who will line-up alongside ex-Bayern Munich men Carsten Ramelow, Thomas Helmer and World Cup winner Guido Buchwald. More names will be announced by The Sheffield Star over the next fortnight.

Legends organiser Paul Reaney noted: “The England Legends games are always a brilliant night’s entertainment, full of families proudly waving St. Georges flags, faces painted with England colours and songs proudly sang. They are also an opportunities for the city’s in which they are staged, we’ve previously played at Reading, Milton Keynes and Southampton, to showcase themselves to the country and, with the game going out across Europe, the continent. With this in mind, we want to offer all Chamber of Commerce members to come along and enjoy the 2008-9 season curtain-raiser and bring a mate for free! We are very keen on this being an event for Sheffield people and their businesses, a chance for the city to come together and remember one of their favourite sons while showing what a vibrant place Sheffield has undoubtedly become.”
