Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has promoted Paul Reeves to director of business development.

Said Paul: “I am delighted to have been recognised with this new title, which will add new responsibilities and opportunities to my role. I will ensure that we build on our successes of the last 18 months and that we see further progress for the Chamber and its members.”

Paul, aged 31, joined the Chamber after spending four years as commercial training manager at Rotherham Chamber of Commerce. He began his career in business after injury blew the whistle on his time as a potential professional footballer. Paul played for Barnsley Schoolboys for five years from the age of 11 before joining Rotherham United at 16.

Paul, who is married with two children and lives in Barnsley, kicked off his business career working on government-funded initiatives working for Action 4 Employment before moving on to Barnsley and Doncaster TEC. He enjoyed a brief spell working in the finance leasing industry, later moving back into the training sector with a small Doncaster-based training provider and joined Rotherham Chamber in 2002 before his move to Sheffield in 2006.
