There is an emergency meeting being called to assist Sheffield manufacturers affected by the flooding. The meeting is being organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and its Sheffield Manufacturers Group, chaired by Alan Reid, the Master Cutler, together with a presentation by Robin Watson, YFM advisor to Yorkshire Water. Other key agencies will be on hand to provide advice and support. This event replaces the event "Potential Olympic Business Opportunities" (delayed until further notice). The event is being held at 4.30pm, Tuesday 3rd July, at the English Institute of Sport on Coleridge Road. Please book your place or check directions by clicking here FOLLOWING ON FROM THIS INITIAL EMERGENCY MEETING FOR BUSINESS AFFECTED BY THE RECENT FLOODING, A FURTHER EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE TO ASSIST BUSINESS RECOVERY: There will be panel session with senior representatives from national and local government, regional development, insurance, banking and business support. The purpose of the panel session is to update affected businesses as to assistance available. There will also be a question and answer session to the panel. There will follow several break out sessions where concerned businesses can take part in surgeries dealing with specific issues such as insurance or specific issues facing certain types of business such as manufacturing.
