In his new role Mandip will be responsible for the strategic development of SENTA and its support networks.

Mandip said: "I'm relishing this opportunity to further develop SENTA to enable more people to accomplish their dreams and set up their own business.

"In particular, I'm hoping to bridge the gap between enterprise and education and build on the organisations previous successes, which are having a real and lasting impact on the ongoing regeneration of Sheffield."

SENTA is part of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and provides fully integrated support to new business start-ups and businesses up to two years old. Its start-up programme is funded by Yorkshire Forward under contract with Business Link South Yorkshire.

SENTA has been part of Sheffield Chamber since 2002 and encourages new entrepreneurs in Sheffield to develop their ideas and skills, creating business growth, regeneration and new employment opportunities within the local economy.

More than 2,500 people made contact with SENTA to discuss their new business idea in the last financial year, leading to 579 new city businesses and the creation of more than 680 jobs.

SENTA operates the New Entrepreneur Scheme (NES) programme on a regional level on behalf of the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies (NFEA). SENTA offers help to wannabe entrepreneurs across Yorkshire and the Humber via NES - a programme which equips scholars from backgrounds that have traditionally found it difficult to access and secure business support with the skills necessary to set up their own business.
