The Chamber is backing a bid to help the city become a leading host of major national conferences.  

The "Conference 21" initiative was launched at Sheffield Hallam University by Chancellor Lord Winston, where guests heard that an astounding 62 per cent of people visiting the city for a conference or meeting return for leisure purposes within a year.

Conference 21 offers a range of facilities and works closely with event organisers to deliver highly successful national and international conferences.

Chamber policy and representation manager Helen Rana said: “We’re asking all members to consider hosting future events – whether they’re planning a large conference, small meeting, training session or seminar – here in the city.

“There seems to be a real opportunity to promote Sheffield here, and Conference 21 will do all the hard work for members.”
