Departing Sheffield City Council Chief Executive Sir Bob Kerslake will be one of the key speakers at this month’s Sheffield Chamber of Commerce annual dinner. sirbobkerslake Set to leave in March, he will effectively be making a farewell speech to hundreds of guests from the Sheffield business community.

“It seemed an appropriate and wonderful opportunity to make a final major speech in the city to many business people who I have come to know during my time as chief executive,” said Sir Bob.

Chief Executive of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Nigel Tomlinson said: “On a personal note I am delighted that Sir Bob has agreed to speak. He and I both started in our respective roles around the same time ten years ago when everybody had a real meeting of the minds and we have managed to build a very successful partnership.

“Sir Bob brought with him a very business-like style of management which the city had long needed. He has provided the building blocks to drive the city’s regeneration and transformation.”

The flagship Annual Dinner event attracts an audience of more than 500 guests every year, including business leaders from across the city region and a host of dignitaries. To be held at Sheffield’s Cutlers Hall on January 31, the guest speaker line-up is completed by global futurist and entrepreneur Rohit Talwar and Sheffield Chamber President Richard Wright, whose roles include Sector Champion for Advanced Engineering and Metals and chairman and director of a number of innovative start-up companies.
