Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has received fantastic feedback from a range of sponsors, guests, winners and nominees all praising its 2007 Sheffield Business Awards ceremony.
Comments received by the Chamber following December’s awards included ‘A cracking awards evening and celebration of the Chamber’ while one guest described the event as showing ‘both the Chamber and Sheffield at its very best.’ One first-time attendee contacted the Chamber to congratulate the organisation on a ‘spectacular’ event, commenting: ‘I was very impressed by the organisation and, in particular, by the huge numbers attending. It shows the high regard with which the Chamber is held by the business community in Sheffield.’ Thirteen categories of achievement ranging from regeneration to business start-up were rewarded at the glittering ceremony at Ponds Forge which saw Forgemasters crowned the Outstanding Business of the Year. Meanwhile, Halliwells LLP scored a hat trick by winning three trophies on the night and Williams Brothers (Sheffield) Ltd did the double by picking up the Sales and Customer Satisfaction award for the second year in a row. To tie in with the ceremony being the final event in the Chamber’s 150th anniversary year, the Chamber’s events team dressed in Victorian costume while compere Yorkshire TV’s Calendar newsreader-turned-producer Peter McNerney dressed as Charles Dickens! Chamber Events and Marketing Manager Vernon Tolson said: “The 2007 ceremony saw us reach a record of more than 1,090 guests and 105 tables at the ceremony, which is a record for us. “But quality is just as important as quantity – so guest feedback like this is crucial to us. We are continuing to receive more feedback forms well into the new year and will take on board all comments and views as we look ahead to planning the 2008 awards ceremony.” |
