Read all about it … Sheffield Newspapers Ltd has signed up as a patron of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.
Sheffield Newspapers is home to the Sheffield Telegraph and Star as well as the Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham Star newspapers. The newspaper group joins the Chamber’s other patrons - Bright Finance, HSBC, Irwin Mitchell, Meadowhall, East Midlands Airport Nottingham Leicester Derby, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield United Football Club and Westfield Health.

Sheffield Chamber is the leading British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) accredited chamber in Yorkshire and Humber.
Last year the business support organisation celebrated its 150th anniversary milestone and also topped 2,000 members.
The Chamber is also home to the South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC) and Sheffield Enterprise Agency (SENTA).

The patronage scheme is designed to support the Chamber in policies including the exchange of knowledge and expertise and promoting the voice of the local business community.

Chamber chief executive Nigel Tomlinson said: “Chamber Patrons have an important role to play by working with the Chamber to support community projects and city wide and sub-regional initiatives.

“The support of our patrons cannot be under-estimated – their involvement and contribution all help strengthen the Chamber and therefore its members.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Sheffield Newspapers into Chamber patronage.”

Sheffield Newspapers managing director Mark Rodgers said: “Sheffield Chamber is the premier business organisation in the region
and Sheffield Newspapers Ltd is the region's biggest publisher of online, digital and paper publications.

“Our patronage of the Chamber is therefore a natural fit to help to promote all that is good about our area and to help to drive the economy forward.

"We operate in a great city region and we have to make sure that the voice of business and industry is heard loud and clear. We already do that through our newspapers and websites but our patron membership of the Chamber gives us many further opportunities. We look forward to a long and successful relationship."
