Michael Shepherd, managing partner of the Sheffield office of accountants and business advisers PKF (UK) LLP, has been appointed to the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Board as honorary treasurer.

PKF has roots in Sheffield dating back to 1865 and, after 40 years in premises on Norfolk Park Road, the practice has recently returned to prime city centre location Fountain Precinct, Balm Green, in a move Michael described as “a commitment to supporting Sheffield and the City Region.”

Michael specialises in the provision of assurance and advisory services, offering commercial and strategic advice principally to PKF corporate clients. The majority of his clients are in the ‘owner managed’ sector, and a long standing commitment to our region’s business support network has led to his association with a number of significant local organisations. He is a past president of Doncaster Chamber of Commerce.

Nigel Tomlinson, Chief Executive of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, said: “Michael will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Board and we welcome his appointment.

“We would also like to thank outgoing Treasurer Richard Frost for his decade of commitment and hard work in the role.”

Michael added: “Sheffield has a thriving economy but there are significant challenges ahead for business. Sheffield Chamber is well placed to contribute to the future success of the city and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be involved.”
