Sheffield-based logistics provider the TAL Logistics Group has announced the latest in a series of high profile acquisitions.
The company, which began with one Yorkshireman and a truck in 1999, has bought out the transportation arm of Van Hee Transport Ltd, a highly respected Gateshead-based transport and delivery specialist. The buy out is part of a planned programme of acquisitions expected to see TAL Logistics - which currently has an annual turnover in excess of 8million - double in size over the next two years. TAL Logistics founder and Chairman Neil Taylor said: Van Hee is very highly regarded, and has a long tradition in the North East. We are delighted to have brought the business under the TAL Logistics Group umbrella. We have pledged that there will be no redundancies as a result of the buy out, and we are whole heartedly committed to that. Our intention is to significantly develop our business across the UK and internationally, which will mean new jobs and opportunities. TAL Logistics is one of the UKs fastest growing logistics companies, with growth of more than 320 per cent over the last two years. Neil Taylor explained the company is very much on the fast track. He said: This is only the latest in a string of acquisitions and we are looking to make further significant purchases in the near future. We are sharply focused on continuing to drive the business rapidly forward, and to that end we are interested in discussions with businesses that have turnovers of between 1million and 20million plus. The TAL Logistics Group consists of TAL Global, TAL Galaxy, TAL Freeway, TAL Gallacher and TAL Eurospecial, each operating within its own specialist logistics and distribution niche. The company provides logistics services throughout the UK and the world via its unique partnership approach. TAL Logistics Group is a South Yorkshire-based company, owned and managed by Sheffield man Neil Taylor and Halifax man Richard Shaw. The company began life in 1999 when Neil Taylor founded TAL Eurospecial. TAL Logistics Group was established in late 2004 to facilitate the management teams ambitious objectives for growth. www.tal-logistics.co.uk
