Fixed Term Contract Full-Time Position
Commencing salary in range £20-£22K per annum plus benefits

This is an unprecedented time for UK importers and exporters. Driven by requirements from the World Customs Organisation (WCO), the World Trade Organisation (WTO and Brexit, importers and exporters are having to assess their products and import/export processes to ensure they meet legal and practical requirements. It is a daunting task but at Sheffield Chamber we have the skills and expertise to help them through the changes.
Our vision is for Sheffield importers/exporters to address these challenges better than anywhere else in the UK. These roles are critical to achieving that vision. We are looking for two motivated and results driven individuals who can understand the strategic drivers occurring and work directly with Sheffield businesses who currently export and import with both the EU and further afield to provide practical guidance to mitigate the effects of Brexit and other changes to requirements by highlighting the key issues around; duties; VAT; Border Delay; Customs Documentation and Certificates of Origin.
Sheffield Chamber offers International Trade services to the business community including trade documentation, letters of credit, customs declarations and consultancy services. The Chamber holds most of the major accreditations including Advanced Export Operator (AEO) and Registered Exporter (REX), being one of the only Chambers in the world to do so. This role will be very customer facing and require the post holder to help businesses become aware of the challenges in the first instance and then support them through the changes where required.
This role will support a small but expanding team dealing with all aspects of international trade. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who can build positive relationships with customers. Training will be given and whilst previous experience of International Trade procedures is desirable, it is not essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels are essential. The successful candidate will also be actively involved in promoting international trade services through various marketing tools including social media and events.
This position is fixed term (up to 2 years), full-time (37.5 hours per week). As well as operating a flexible working policy, Sheffield Chamber offers generous holidays plus statutory holidays and Westfield health scheme membership
