Membership Terms & Conditions

Completion of the online application signifies acceptance that Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry and/or subsidiaries can contact the member using the telephone, fax or email details supplied. The application also signifies that the member agrees to contact Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Application for Membership

I/We hereby make application to the Board of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry for election to membership of that Chamber; and I/We truly and correctly give above the details required by the said Board for that purpose of application. If elected I/We agree to abide by the Chamber’s Memorandum, Articles of Association and Bye-laws and during membership to pay the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the time required, not less than the appropriate minimum annual business membership fee from time to time in force.

I/We hereby do undertake to contribute to the assets of the company, in the event of the same being wound up while I am/We are a member or within one year after ceasing to be a member, for payments of the debts and liabilities of the company and the costs, charges and expenses winding up, such amount as may be required up to, and not in the event exceeding, the sum of one pound (£1.00).

I/We hereby do agree that once we have resigned our membership that all stationery displaying the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry logo must be destroyed. Also the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Advice Line Service will be terminated and the card must be destroyed or returned to Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and any advice sought after this date will be charged accordingly.

I, the undersigned, have completed this record to the best of my knowledge and ability and confirm that the information supplied is accurate at the date of completion. I understand and consent that the data supplied will be held on the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s computerised database and that the data may be provided to third parties who are sourcing suppliers or who may contact this company with offers.

In support of this application I/We understand that the Chamber may request two references.

Product provided

By purchasing a membership to the Sheffield Chamber your are entitled to member rates on all our events and training courses, as well as gaining access to our additional services such as the Chamber Legal Helpline and Chamber HR. Your details on how to access these services will be provided once payment for membership has been processed.

Right to Cancel / Refund Policy

Under the distance selling regulations you have the right to cancel your order for any service purchased on this website, for a full refund. Your cancellation rights expire 7 days from the date you contact Sheffield Chamber of Commerce or after 7 days of your services being active. The distance selling regulations further specify when your cancellation rights expire.

After this time has passed you will be bound by Article 6(a) of the Chamber’s Articles of Association which states: “A member may terminate their membership giving notice in writing to the Chamber at least 30 days before the next membership fee becomes due. If no such notice is received the member will be liable for the ensuing year which shall be debt due to and legally recoverable by the Chamber.”

Terms & Conditions for Training

PAYMENT
An Invoice will be raised upon confirmation of booking. Full payment must be made 14 days before the first day of the course. Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry reserves the right not to allow delegates to attend courses unless full payment has been received. All invoices will be issued by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

All cheques should be made payable to Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

All courses are subject to VAT being added. Late payment may be subject to interest being added.

LATE PAYMENT
In the event of late payment Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry reserves the right to charge interest on all outstanding amounts at the rate of 2% per calendar month or part there of from the last date that payment was due to the date that payment was made.

CERTIFICATES
Delegate certificates will not be issued until full payment has been received.

Copy certificates will be charged a £25 + VAT administration fee.

ACCREDITATION
Accreditation is governed by accrediting bodies and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry can take no responsibility for candidates failing to meet accreditation requirements or for any other matter relating to accreditation criteria.

TRANSFERRING DELEGATES
Transferring of course delegates before the start of the initial course booking date is subject to fees within the costing table outlined below

If that transfer is then cancelled and/or the delegate fails to attend, then the full fee remains payable.

CANCELLING COURSES
Cancellations to bookings made before the start of the course are subject to the costing table outlined below. If a booking is cancelled within 1 month of the course start
date or if the delegate fails to attend the course, the full course fee must be paid.

CHANGING DELEGATE DETAILS
There is no charge if a substitute person wishes to replace an existing delegate. Please inform us as soon as possible before the course start date.

CANCELLATION OF THE COURSE BY SHEFFIELD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time without liability. In the unlikely event of this happening delegates would be offered an alternative date, course or a full refund. We reserve the right to alter course contents without prior notice as all of our courses are constantly updated to maintain a high standard of quality.

TIMES
Full day courses run from 9:30am to 4:30pm*
Half day courses run from 9:30am to 1:00pm*
*Unless specified otherwise

LUNCH
Lunch is provided with all full day programmes (unless in-company or specified otherwise); please advise our staff beforehand of any special dietary requirements.
