Professional Energy Purchasing Ltd is a local independent Energy Procurement Specialist with over 30 years’ experience in the Energy market. Alongside a successful energy procurement service for members, the team have successfully recouped over £100,000 in refunds for customers that have overpaid CCL (climate change levy) tax on their energy contracts.
Energy prices are constantly changing as shown in the graph below, which is why the team carefully identify / quantify potential areas of savings with an energy audit across the business. The Professional Energy Purchasing team promises to advise all customers when and how to purchase energy to gain the right price at the right time.
This service will:
- Ensure you are purchasing your utilities at the best possible prices.
- Carry out a survey to identify/quantify potential areas of savings across the business.
- Project manage the implementation of the identified recommendations as a result of the above survey if required.
Electricity is forecast to rise at between 7% – 10% per year, based on statistics by DECC.

Energy Industry Update
Climate change levy is set to increase considerably in April 2019 by 45% on electricity & 67% on gas (based on 2018 levels) with the abolishment of the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC). SME businesses will have to absorb these increases unless they qualify for CCL exemptions. We can advise you on CCL relief & Energy efficiency to mitigate the impact of these increase.
New £7m fund to help businesses cut energy bills
A new fund entitled the ‘Green Business Fund’ which will provide financial support to help smaller businesses reduce their energy use has been launched. The fund is being made available to small and medium sized firms in England, Scotland and Wales on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible companies can apply for funding covering up to 15% of a project, up to a maximum of £10,000.
