Inspiring Women

What is Inspiring Women?

Inspiring Women is the 'women in business' forum for Sheffield Chamber. The board is made up of high-profile business women from across the Chamber membership. Their purpose is to inspire the business women and men of Sheffield through three core activity areas:

  • Training and education
  • Communication and development
  • Networking and events

What do they do?

In 2008, the opening year for the group, there were a series of events to inspire the business people of Sheffield. Justin Urquhart-Stewart, a leading media personality who writes regularly for national newspapers and magazines, had this to say after speaking at a prestigious Inspiring Women networking lunch at the Cutler's Hall: "Clouds may be gathering and the outlook a tad gloomy, but what a dynamic group of women. If they could run the country our future would be a lot more optimistic; it was a pleasure to meet such a bright and vibrant business group". For 2009 Inspiring Women held a hugely successful event at The Lyceum theatre, where speakers included young engineering entrepreneur Ruth Amos, and Great Guns Marketing owner and inspirational speaker Liz Jackson. 2010 promises to be another successful year for the group.

When do they meet?

The board meet monthly. These meetings are only open to board members, although Chamber members can apply to be considered for the board when vacancies become available by contacting Iain Smith.
