Celebrating the best of Sheffield business
A Sheffield engineering business was the big winner at the Elevation Recruitment Group sponsored Sheffield Business Awards held 1st December, at Ponds Forge before an audience of nearly 800.
The Tinsley Bridge Group won the SIV Outstanding Business of the Year title and the Wake Smith Excellence in Manufacturing Award.
It was a richly deserved double for the group which is made up of four award-winning businesses – Tinsley Bridge, Tyzack Machine Knives, Tinsley Bridge Engineering and SCG Rail Solutions. Part of British Steel until 1987, the independent group is now privately owned.
Two well-known Sheffield businessman picked-up honours. City taxis chief Arnie Singh was announced as The Shorts Chartered Accountants sponsored Business Person of the Year and Jerry Cheung the driving force of New Era’s £65m 20 storey development at St Mary’s Gate and Bramall Lane.
