Dr Sam Chapman is the Co-Founder, Director and Chief Innovation Officer at The Floow Limited. The Floow supply telematic data capture, mobility and risk analysis solutions to brand name insurance and automotive organisations globally from its Sheffield headquarters. The Floow Limited's mission aims to ‘make mobility safer and smarter for all’ by understanding mass mobility data to power new products, mobility and transport services. This creates a unique view of mobility and its underlying risk and impacts on the world. The Floow has long been regarded in its field as a global leader in innovation having won numerous awards and royal recognition including from Prince Michael’s International road safety award (for new innovations in saving lives) and the global leading innovation award, The Queens Enterprise Award for Enterprise in Innovation.
As well as global commercial operations spanning the globe, The Floow remain highly involved in future transport solutions which are explored alongside Insurance, OEM and government partners. Sam’s work includes new technology, new markets and research projects including those supporting the development of autonomous vehicles and smart cities.
Sam is also active in a number of advisory roles informing industry groups and parliament on insurance, driver behaviour, road safety, data and technology related to current and future transport and its impacts. Sam is also a keen promoter of the regions growing digital sector which he supports by chairing the regions ‘economy.SHF’ group seeking to advance the regions digital economies.
