Andrew Hartley

The Sheffield College

Andrew is responsible for the business development, marketing and the operation of the College’s estate. He leads the College’s engagement with employers and key stakeholders on apprenticeships and skills training solutions, the marketing of the College to potential students, and the implementation of the College’s estates strategy

He joined Sheffield College in 2016 from System Training one of the UK’s leading training providers for the logistics industry.

Previously Andrew worked for 10 years at the University of Derby as Managing Director of the University of Derby’s business to business operating arm (University of Derby Corporate) working with companies providing:

  • Work based learning and skills development solutions for employers and their staff
  • Research, Innovation and Knowledge transfer services
  • Business start-up and enterprise support services
  • Conferencing/meeting facilities and services

Prior to joining the University in 2003, he worked for Beck & Pollitzer Engineering, an engineering services contractor specialising in the installation of industrial plant and machinery. His particular brief was to build the company's International business establishing and developing operations in mainland Europe, USA and Japan.

His early career was in the third party logistics industry working for Transport Development Group plc in a number of business and corporate development roles.
