Nick Pearson

Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service (SOHAS)

In Nicks career, he has worked as engineer and technical manager in the mining and entertainment industries. In 1999, he joined Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service (SOHAS). He have an MBA and studied at Sheffield Hallam University.

SOHAS provides the cities job retention service which gives advice to employees who believe that their health is being affected by there work. The outcome of the service is to keep people in work. We also provide non-medical occupational health assessments for employers for employees who are struggling to return to work after sickness absence.

Nick is an experienced manager with extensive knowledge of delivering work and health services. He has developed services within primary (GP) and secondary care that encompasses mental health, cancer, stroke, learning disabilities and musculoskeletal, all with a focus on keeping people in work.

Nick has led and been part of research teams that have carried out research on the work and health journey; from out of work to keeping people in work and gaining an understanding of how organisations engage with their staff on a range of health and wellbeing issues.

Nick is currently a member of the mental health partnership, which is a voluntary group of organisations who all provide mental health services across the city.

Outside of work Nick's interests include Hill and fell running, American contemporary fiction, Music and Italian cookery.
