Radius by Shorts – R&D Tax Reliefs done properly

Chamber members may be eligible to benefit from thousands of pounds of Corporation Tax savings for their innovative work through R&D Tax Reliefs and the government’s Patent Box scheme.

The Radius team at Shorts provides robust R&D Tax Relief claims, prepared and maximised by specialists with minimum disruption to you.

It has never been more important to ensure R&D tax relief claims are done properly, with HMRC cracking down heavily on historic and current error-strewn claims. Radius has detailed quality assurance processes to ensure claims are fully optimised and compliant, including a detailed review by a former HMRC R&D Tax Inspector.

Chamber members can check their eligibility for R&D tax reliefs for free using the Radius R&D eligibility checklist.

R&D tax relief is very generous, and an SME incurring £100k of qualifying costs could save in the region of *£25k in tax. Large companies can claim the Research & Development Expenditure Credit (RDEC) at *13% of the qualifying expenditure.

*The rate of R&D tax reliefs is being reduced from 1 April 2023 and the effective new rate is 21.5%. For a Profit making company for every £100,000 spent on qualifying R&D the tax saving is £21,500. For a loss making company it will be £18,600.

**RDEC will increase to 20% and a net effective tax saving of 15%.
