Bhayani Law World Down Syndrome Day coffee morning

Date: 20 Mar 2020

Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

You’re invited to a very special coffee morning on Friday 20th March 2020, 11 am until 1 pm at The Burton Street Foundation, to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.

World Down Syndrome Day is about advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome.

This is a fundraising event, but World Down Syndrome Day is also about awareness, and opportunities for people with Down Syndrome.  That includes employment opportunities and equality in the workplace.  As employment lawyers, this is something our clients ask us to advise on.

We’ll have information and a guest from Work Fit there to explain the work they do connecting employers with employees with Down Syndrome and the training they can offer to employers about the learning profile of people who have Down Syndrome so they can be supported in the workplace.

The coffee morning is in collaboration with Burton Street Foundation and SHEDS who will have information about the work they do in this area. Most importantly there will be some guests who can tell us about their experiences, as people with Down Syndrome, of their job or their aspirations to work.

If you’re an employer, we hope this will be a great opportunity to find out more about employing people with Down Syndrome, to meet some new people, and of course to eat some cake.
