Brexit and Right to Work Checks
Date: 31 Jan 2017
Time: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Brexit will be the biggest British political shift that many of us will see in our life times. It raises any number of issues for business, particularly corporate immigration. This workshop, lead by Fragomen LLP aims to explore the potential impacts of Brexit on immigration. The workshop will include a presentation by Lee Bartlett, Senior Manager at Fragomen LLP and former Home Office official. He will provide advice and recommendations on Brexit and immigration, and tips that businesses can use to prepare for the eventual changes in immigration policy.
Lee will also provide an overview of Right to Work Checks in the UK. This Government law, aimed at preventing illegal working, means that employers must first check someone is legally allowed to work here before they can be employed. This law applies to all employees regardless of nationality. Lee will take you through why and how to conduct these checks, in order to make sure you stay compliant.
