Sheffield Chamber Transport Forum Meeting

Date: 23 Mar 2017

Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Sheffield Council have commissioned Steer, Davies Gleave to produce a report to help guide the development of the city’s future transport policy. Neil Chadwick, SDG Director, will present the findings from this study to the Sheffield Chamber Transport Forum, followed by questions and discussion.

The study will underpin Sheffield’s future transport strategy. The study looks at things which the transport system delivers (such as a journey time from A to B) that, if secured, lead to positive things such as regeneration and economic growth. They will only be secured if value for money, affordable and deliverable interventions can be identified that have public and political support.

This is a unique opportunity to provide input into it, on behalf of the wider business community and we need as many people as possible to participate.

Over the last few months the Chamber, through its Transport Forum has taken a leading role on many issues including HS2, DSA and Midland Mainline, but transport within our home city is just as important. Any transport strategy has to allow for the consequences of all of these, and cover the everyday nitty gritty issues we all face.
