Abi Golland will be talking about how she and her husband Richard built and grew their business from plucky fast-food start-up to a modern Sheffield institution.
Abi’s talk will discuss how the success of Sheffield’s favourite Mexican cuisine brand started out as an accidental by-product of operating a values-driven business. Exploring the planned strategy versus their accidental brand-building, we’ll discover how Street Food Chef’s core values have impacted every marketing decision they’ve made from how the company uses social media, to PR and maintaining their brand image.
Digital PR: The Secret to Securing Top-Tier Links for Unknown Brands

Building high-quality links from top-tier journalists and national publications can be one of the most challenging tasks for a marketer, especially if your brand isn’t well known or operates in a ‘boring’ industry.
Revealing her top-secret, tried and tested formula for securing top-tier links and countless shares through smart storytelling and data use, Carrie’s talk will show how you can apply Digital PR strategies to content campaigns for any brands no matter who they are, what they do, or how large their budget is.

Richard and Abi Golland started the Street Food Chef in 2010 when they realised that there was a gap in the market for a restaurant that served quick and healthy fast food. Coming from a former 12-year career in Early Years working for a private Nursery chain, it was while she worked with young children that she became passionate about proper food, seeing how important it was to children’s health and well-being.
Since starting trading from a 3m x 2m trailer in 2010, the Street Food Chef has won a number of Eat Sheffield Awards and been recognised in the National Press. Abi applies the same values to her business and to her leadership style; integrity, doing it properly, keeping it simple, looking after each other, and preparing the food with love.
Carrie is the creative director at newly launched Sheffield agency, Rise at Seven, leading the creative content marketing, Digital PR and social media offering. Her work closely aligns with SEO strategy, building links to improve organic performance by creating stories, data, and assets that journalists naturally want to talk about.
Carrie was shortlisted for Young Digital Marketer of the Year at the Northern Digital Awards 2019, and worked previously as the Senior Campaign Strategist at SEO agency Branded3 and Edit.
