We are delighted to be supporting our Chamber's Charity of the Year, The Children's Hospital Charity, at their launch event for the Bears of Sheffield!
The Bears of Sheffield is a public art exhibition that will unite the city, whilst celebrating everything that is wonderful about Sheffield and its surrounding areas. Coordinated by The Children's Hospital Charity, the trail will bring together businesses, communities, artists and schools whilst raising money for Sheffield Children’s.
The bears are currently being brought to life by artists of all ages, both professional and amateur, and they are set to make a dramatic entrance in July 2021!
Join us at SmokeBBQ in Millennium Square to celebrate the launch! Enjoy refreshments whilst networking with businesses from across the Sheffield City Region, followed by a short tour across the City Centre to visit some of the Bears in prime locations.
We ask that guests donate a fee of £10 to attend the event, which will then be donated to Sheffield's Children's Hospital. Refreshments are kindly being provided by SmokeBBQ.
What the bears will fund?
The bears will raise vital funds to transform the Cancer and Leukaemia Ward at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The ward treats children from babies through to 19-year olds, in South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and as far south as Northampton.
One of the twenty principal treatment centres in the UK, the Cancer Ward at Sheffield Children’s cares for children with cancer and Leukaemia as well as patients who have other blood problems such as bleeding and inherited disorders.
The care children receive on the ward is amazing but the facilities are in need of improvement. Every penny raised through the Bears of Sheffield sculpture trail will help make the new Cancer and Leukaemia Ward a reality for patients, families and staff at Sheffield Children’s.
Your £10 really will make a big difference – thank you!
