Festival of Running 2025

Organised by Matlock Athletic Club since 1977; the Festival of Running consists of three running distances, all within Derbyshire's beautiful White Peak area.

The 'Festival of Running' event has been going since 1977 and offers three different distances:

Marathon- The traditional route from Thorpe to Cromford Meadows following first the Tissington Trail to Parsley Hay, then the High Peak Trail to Cromford

Half Marathon- Follows the High Peak Trail from Friden to Cromford over firm compacted limestone and cinder surfaces on former railway tracks

10k- No steep uphill stretches & a flat finish, provides the potential for fast times & PBs

Whichever distance you choose, you'll run through the tranquil Derbyshire White Peak area, experiencing no traffic, only beautiful scenery!

Matlock Athletic Club have kindly donated four charity places to us, which can be used for either the White Peak Marathon, White Peak Half or the 'Down in a Shot' 10k.

To secure a charity place, we would require you to raise our minimum fundraising; this figure will depend on the specific distance selected.

There is no entry fee and your charity place will also include a bus transfer from Cromford Wharf to your run's specific start location. In addition, you will receive a race memento.

Please note - To receive a medal or t-shirt, this will require a payment to the organisers.
