Membership Terms and Conditions
Terms and conditions for membership with Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.
Completion of the online application signifies acceptance that Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry and/or subsidiaries can contact the member using the telephone, fax or email details supplied. The application also signifies that the member agrees to contact Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Application for Membership
I/We hereby make application to the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry for election to membership of that Chamber; and I/we truly and correctly give above the details required by the said Chamber for that purpose of application. If elected I/we agree to abide by the Chamber’s Memorandum, Articles of Association and Bye-laws and during membership to pay the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the time required, not less than the appropriate minimum annual business membership fee from time to time in force.
I/We hereby do undertake to contribute to the assets of the company, in the event of the same being wound up while I am/we are a member or within one year after ceasing to be a member, for payments of the debts and liabilities of the company and the costs, charges and expenses winding up, such amount as may be required up to, and not in the event exceeding, the sum of one pound (£1.00).
I/We hereby do agree that once we have resigned our membership that all stationery displaying the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry logo must be destroyed. Also, the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Advice Line Service will be terminated, and any advice sought after this date will be charged accordingly.
I, the undersigned, have completed this record to the best of my knowledge and ability and confirm that the information supplied is accurate at the date of completion. I understand and consent that the data supplied will be held on the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s computerised database and that the data may be provided to third parties who are sourcing suppliers or who may contact this company with offers.
In support of this application, I/we understand that the Chamber may request two references.
By purchasing a membership to the Sheffield Chamber you are entitled to member rates on all our events and training courses, as well as gaining access to our additional services such as the Chamber Legal Helpline and Chamber HR. Your details on how to access these services will be provided once payment for membership has been processed.
Right to Cancel / Refund Policy
Under the distance selling regulations you have the right to cancel your order for any service purchased on this website, for a full refund. Your cancellation rights expire 7 days from the date you contact Sheffield Chamber of Commerce or after 7 days of your services being active. The distance selling regulations further specify when your cancellation rights expire.
After this time has passed you will be bound by Article 13 of the Chamber’s Articles of Association which states: A Member may terminate membership only after expiry of their first full year’s subscription membership by giving notice in writing at least one month, 30 days’ notice in writing. Subsequently their subscription will be terminated 30 days following the receipt of notice. before the day when his subscription shall next be due.
As soon as payment is processed, your membership and all its services are instantly considered ‘active’.
Fees and Charges (Direct Debit and Card Payments)
All payments for membership are to be paid in advance via:
- monthly/annual Direct Debit through Go Cardless, or
- paid in full via card through Stripe.
Payment via Direct Debit
Payment can be made by monthly or annual direct debit, provided through GoCardless. Subject to the date of joining, you agree to your direct debit payment to be taken on the 3rd or the 17th of the month. For businesses joining in the first two weeks of the month, payment will be taken on the 17th, for businesses joining in the second two weeks of the month, your payment will be taken on the 3rd of the following month.

Payment via Card
A one up front annual payment can be made and processed securely online through 3D secure, via Stripe. Accepted cards include Visa and Mastercard.
