10th Anniversary Family Fun Day

Our fundraiser will be a 10th year anniversary celebration of the opening of the neuroscience ward (Ward 5) within Sheffield Children's Hospital, taking place on 22nd September 2019 at Graves Park.

We are aiming to showcase all of the amazing achievements made by our patients, staff and families, share information and raise awareness of the types of patients we see on the ward. We care for patients age 0-19 with neurological and neurosurgical conditions such as major and minor head injuries, brain tumours, hydrocephalus, epilepsy and many more. Over the last 10 years we have been honoured to treat some of the bravest, resilient and most determined children and young people and we feel passionate about building a strong future for the patients we have yet to meet. During our family fun day we have organised an exciting mixture of informative charity stalls including Yorkshire air ambulance, Shine, Brain Tumour Charity, Brainstrust, Fable and Backup. These fantastic charities will show what life for patients with neurological/neurosurgical conditions is like and the challenges our patients can face, as well as providing information on how they can help. We also have the support of some brilliant local and small businesses including Bear and Babe, Tubieego, Olivemade, Nara, Annly and many more. Our lovely friends at Hullabaloobell Parties have created a real toy hospital workshop, in which our visiting children can become future nurses and neurosurgeons and stay to care for their toys. This will be followed by a short story time session, sing song and lots of fun. Mess Around South Yorkshire will also be hosting a messy play workshop to highlight the importance of sensory play with children. There will be many hands on learning opportunities throughout the day from support around car seats, bike and road safety, as well as first aid and CPR lessons and visits from the emergency service teams, police, fire and ambulance. All mixed together with a variety of food & drinks vendors and many fun day favourites ranging from, face painting, bake stalls, tombola, guess the bear name, raffle and a special passport for the children to complete while adventuring through the stalls. For those who are fans of cars, we will have a variety of Porsche cars for viewing and for a small fee the chance to be a passenger for a drive in a Porsche GT. Alongside all this and more throughout the day there will be demonstrations taking place upon a main stage from dance performances and singers to events such as; taking the time to conduct ward 5 birthday celebration in which we will celebrate the great achievements of our patients and staff, with visits from VIP guests. Our aim is to have created and supplied a successful fun day for families whilst raising awareness of our ward and the patients we care for. We are aiming to raise funds to continue to provide excellent care and equipment for our families and patients.   Sponsorship options Please find below an outline of sponsorship options we have developed. Any sponsorship is so greatly appreciated and any donation made by a company/business or person involved will be named listed in any and all advertisement. We know it takes a community to support one another in times of need and we thank you for considering helping our cause. Option 1 £20 - A contribution towards running cost such as; licence & park fees, raffle tickets, admin and printing. Option 2 £50 - A stall sponsorship, to sponsor a charity or information stall providing vital advice and support to local families and patients. Option 3 £100 - A contribution towards entertainment and stage hire cost. Option 4 - Any other amount or services offered to help towards the running of a successful event.
