25 Years for Plant Hire Champion

The Directors of Plant & Tool Hire Specialists Champion Hire Ltd, congratulated Long-Serving Employee Shaun Tye (42) on the occasion of him achieving 25 years loyal service with the company.

Shaun started work at Champion Hire's Chesterfield Depot on the Government's YTS scheme as a Trainee Fitter in 1989. Helater became a Hire Desk Clerk, and after several years in this role, was subsequently appointed Depot Manager of the Nottingham& Derby Depot when it first opened in 1997. "I've done all sorts of jobs here" said Shaun, "I can't believe how the years have just flown by, Champion is a very much like a big family and there are lots of us who have been here for a long time". Shaun, who is married with 3 children, lives in Chesterfield and when not managing the depot, finds time to play football for Chesterfield Town Veterans. Chairman Tim Hale commented "Shaun is one of many staff who have been with us for years - we couldn't provide the kind of excellent customer service that we do without guys like him". Managing Director Keith White added "The last few years have been really difficult for the construction sector and to be able to pull through we have relied a lot on our Depot Teams, under the leadership of good Depot Managers. Shaun is a great example,illustrating our positive, family company 'can do' attitude. Now that things are improving, Shaun's experience will be essential in helping to manage our continued growth.
