29th June 2020

Charles H Coward Ltd are thrilled to announce that they have been crowned the Yorkshire Family Business of the Year at the #FBOTY2020 awards.

We're absolutely thrilled to announce that last Thursday evening we we're crowned the Yorkshire Family Business of the Year at the #FBOTY2020 awards, this award means everything to us here at Charles H Coward Ltd and everyone here is so proud to have been recognised in this light, it certainly helps complete an extremely busy and successful year.

Over the past 12 months Charles H Coward Ltd has been extremely busy taking the next steps in the development of the business. New branding was designed and developed to further modernise the business and highlight us as the group of companies that we have become over the years and a new whole new website was built to showcase all aspects of the business
In October 2019 we won the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence in Manufacturing and over the winter we made further investments in the infrastructure here by installing new overhead lifting equipment to help increase capacity and productivity on larger castings.

In March this year we grew the company further by finalising the acquisition of our long term customer and partner Photocast Products Ltd – a cast metal sign and plaque manufacturing company based in Liverpool.

During the Covid-19 pandemic we have managed to maintain full staff and production, with contracted work for key sectors as well the business once again diversifying its production skills into new lines of business and securing new business during this time, manufacturing castings for the production of NHS emergency requirements.

We want to take this opportunity to show our biggest thank you to our amazing team throughout all of the companies within the CHC Group for their commitment and hard work during these times and to say that our general success and winning awards really would not be possible without you.

On top of the main award, during the Family Business United awards we also managed to secure 2nd place in the Yorkshire Peoples Vote AND made the final 12 for the UK Manufacturing category - what an amazing night it was for our company.

We would like to extend congratulations to all the winners across all the categories and regions and to everyone who made the finals - this was a night that really did showcase the very best of UK Family Business and the absolute bedrock that it forms for the UK economy.
