A Celebratory Reception at the Palace
30th July 2015
On Tuesday 14th July, Joint Managing Directors of Pricecheck Toiletries Limited, Mark Lythe and Deborah Harrison, attended a celebratory reception at Buckingham Palace in honour of receiving a prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
The annual function welcomes to the Palace those businesses and individuals who have been awarded the highest accolade for business in the UK - A Queen's Award. Mark and Debbie shook hands with Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh before mingling with fellow award winners in the Palace state rooms. They had the opportunity to chat with other royal attendees including, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Princess Eugenie. Doug and Moira Lythe, company founders and parents to Mark and Debbie, also travelled down to London to show their support and celebrate the success. Debbie Harrison stated, -Our parents founded the business in 1978 and it is their brave pioneering spirit that got us to where we are today. They created a successful business with an excellent reputation within the industry that gave us the foundation for the rapid growth we've enjoyed since we took the helm 7 years ago. Mark Lythe adds, -We were very proud to visit The Palace and to talk about Pricecheck's export growth with members of the Royal family. Prince Andrew was fascinated that we export to over 50 different countries and joked that our travel expenses must be very high! To be invited to meet Her Majesty The Queen was a wonderful experience and one that we will not forget in a hurry! Later this year, an official representative of The Queen, The Lord Lieutenant will visit Pricecheck at their offices in Sheffield to formally present the award.
