AAG Systems Secures First 5 Year MSP Contract

26th March 2015

AAG Systems has secured it's first five year contract to deliver complete managed services (MSP) to Sheffield based oil and gas forgings business, Abbey Forged Products Ltd.

AAG will be supporting the server infrastructure with its in-house experts who will be helping Abbey's own IT staff to undertake more complex projects and resolve issues. The contract covers 120 devices in total and AAG will also be providing 3rd line support, where needed, to the company's desktops. AAG is already deploying a new server to load balance Abbey's current resource, offering greater redundancy and performance improvements. AAG has been supporting Abbey for just a few days, but even at this early stage Abbey are already feeling the benefit. -I would just like to say, I think that what we saw yesterday totally justifies our decision to move to AAG," said Andy Forster, IT manager at Abbey. "We thought long and hard about making the move, now I have no doubts that we made we made the right choice," he added. Abbey Forged Products, already one of AAG Systems' IT hardware clients, had it's infrastructure and hardware supported under a break-fix contract covering the company between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. This was something with which the IT manager at Abbey was content to continue until AAG Systems' technology director Matt Shore and MSP team leader Damian McNeilly presented the benefits of a 24/7, remotely monitored service. The benefits of predictive maintenance, in terms of repairs and switch out before failure, were well understood to a manufacturing business. However, the added benefit of being able to forecast IT capital expenditure for replacement hardware and upgrades benefited the financial planning as well as the technology aspects of the business.
