Accolade for SYCF at Non-Profit Awards

South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) has picked up another award in recognition of its grant giving excellence.

SYCF has been named Best Regional Grant-Giving Foundation at the 2026 Non-Profit Organisation Awards.
 
The awards, organised by Acquisition International, are a global programme aimed at spotlighting the organisations and individuals whose work is transforming lives improving systems and building better futures.
 
The awards celebrate a wide range of impactful work including humanitarian support health equity, education, environmental protection, economic empowerment and social justice advancement.
 
Judging is merit-based meaning recognition is awarded for excellence, innovation, integrity and demonstratable positive impact.
It comes after SYCF was also named Best Regional Community Grant Giving Foundation 2025 at the Business Elite Awards.
 
Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026, SYCF has awarded £40m in funding to thousands of voluntary and community groups across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield since forming in 1986.
 
Martin Singer, Chief Executive of SYCF, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this recognition. Being named Best Regional Grant-Giving Foundation is a testament to the dedication of our team, the generosity of our donors and the incredible work of community organisations across South Yorkshire.
 
“As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, this award highlights the real impact of local giving and the vital role we play in helping communities to thrive, tackle disadvantage and create lasting change.”
 
SYCF is one of 47 community foundations across the UK which make up the UKCF network. Since 1986, the organisation has awarded more than £40m to voluntary and community groups and individuals in South Yorkshire.
