Ahead Partnership

27th June 2018

We connect employers with education, public and private sector partners to widen their social impact through innovative employability events and activities in local schools.

We work across the country with employers and educators to provide services that help employers to engage, inspire and motivate young people around skills, career options and future employment. Our events raise awareness of the roles available across the region, as well as promote awareness of the opportunities that young people can aspire to. From Careers Events to Interview Practices to Enterprise Days or bespoke activities, there are plenty of ways to get involved. This has been our first academic year working across the wider Sheffield City Region and we have already made some great connections with businesses that would like to commit their time to help young people across the area through our activities. We have first- hand experience of how meaningful interactions with students can help businesses make a significant difference to the lives of young people, help meet their community investment and employee engagement goals, and also support wider economic plans. We are so pleased that the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce is also working alongside us in a project to help young people build essential soft skills needed for the world of work through one of our social action projects. They will be working with fifteen students from Sheffield Springs Academy, who will be re-designing a meeting space for the organisation as part of their interior design challenge. The first session is to take place tomorrow and sessions two and three over the next couple of weeks! We still have spaces for business volunteers to take part and act as business coaches to help students with their team working, project management and presentation skills if you would like to get involved, please get in touch! If you would like to volunteer any of your time to take part in our activities and help students in South Yorkshire, please visit our website for a list of opportunities: http://www.aheadpartnership.org.uk/make-the-grade/volunteer/ For more information on who we are and how we can work with your organisation, please contact our South Yorkshire Partnership Development Manager, Dani Grant on dani.grant@aheadpartnership.org.uk
