An evening in conversation with Doug Liversidge CBE

29th February 2012

Wednesday 7 March 6:45 for 7:00pm Pennine Theatre, Sheffield Hallam University, City Campus Doug Liversidge CBE has enjoyed a long and successful career as a businessman, and served as the city's Master Cutler from 1998 to 1999.

His business skills have earned him three Queen's awards for innovation and export, along with the title 'South Yorkshire Businessman of the Year'. And, at the age of 74, Doug is now a published novelist. His new book, The Storm Bringer, is a tale he has long wanted to tell, based partly on his time in Libya as an army officer on national service half a century ago. His publisher describes the book as 'a taut thriller, an intriguing tale of love, power and vengeance'. Doug says such comments are flattering and it'd be nice if the book fulfils its early promise, not least for the charity that will benefit from it. Charlie'sTrust was set up in memory of Doug's only grandson, Charlie, who was killed in an accident three years ago, just days before his eighth birthday. The book is dedicated to him. Places are free but must be booked in advance. Sheffield Hallam Events Email events@shu.ac.uk Website http://events.shu.ac.uk
