Anonymous donor amazes Bluebell Wood by donating holiday caravan

2nd August 2019

A big-hearted man has amazed staff and families at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice by donating his much-loved caravan to raise funds.

The unusual donation came via Bluebell Wood volunteer Carol Wood, just in time for the summer holidays. Carol was taken aback when the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, approached her with the kind offer. -I was shocked, said Carol, from New Whittington near Chesterfield. -I asked him if he was joking, and then I told him that it's worth a lot of money and he should go away and think about it. -But he'd already made his decision so I told him we'd be absolutely delighted to take it. Its previous owner has lovingly looked after the well-equipped two-berth Coachman Pastiche caravan and left it in great condition for its new owner, even going as far as fixing a flat tyre! The caravan is listed for auction on eBay with a competitive buy-it-now price of £6,500 and can be found here https://www.charity.ebay.co.uk/charity/Bluebell-Wood-Children's-Hospice/24488 Through Gift Aid Bluebell Wood can also claim an extra 25 per cent of the final selling price. Sunny Allison, Head of Retail at Bluebell Wood, said: -We'd like to thank the gentleman for his unusual but incredibly generous donation which will make a huge difference to families who are going through the most challenging of times. -The funds raised will help our Bluebell Wood families make precious memories in the time they have together, and I hope someone will make many happy memories of their own in their brilliant new holiday home.
