Another win for two great Sheffield teams, as Sheffield Steelers teams up with Hydra Creative

1st September 2021

Hydra Creative continue to go from strength to strength after becoming a sponsor of international ice hockey elite league winners – Sheffield Steelers.

Sheffield-based digital agency, Hydra Creative has not only spread its wings in football and women’s basketball in the past 18 months, but has also now secured another partnership, with Sheffield Steelers, in time for the upcoming 21/22 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

The Sheffield Steelers are entering their 30th year as a team, carrying with them an impressive history, including winning the Premier Sports Challenge Cup last year. The Elite Ice Hockey League season starts on the 25th of September, when the Steelers hope to bring home the title yet again.

Business Development Manager at Hydra Creative, Keith Tarry, described the partnership as a wonderful opportunity to work with one of Sheffield's biggest sports teams.

“The Steelers have been a major part of Sheffield for the past 30 years, so the chance for us to get involved and team up with another notable organisation was an easy decision to make. We can't wait for the 2021/22 season to start and our team are positive it will be another successful season for the Steelers, that will end in plenty of silverware.”

Steelers commercial manager Mike O’Connor said “We’re delighted to welcome Hydra Creative to the Steelers, an exciting progressive company joining an exciting progressive club and sport.

“We are confident that we will be able to provide Hydra Creative a platform for them to be able to promote themselves and their services through their partnership with the Steelers. We look forward to seeing them involved in our season at the Sheffield Arena as well as online and through our social media.”

“Our season starts in just a few weeks with thousands of hockey fans excited and ready to attend games after a 536 day layoff since our last home fixture. As the Steelers brand continues to increase and our attendances stronger than ever we welcome partnerships with those at Hydra Creative and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.”

After an uncertain year for many, it’s good to hear that organisations in and around Sheffield are still keen to support each other.
