Are you ready for the Olympic Torch coming to Sheffield? Monday 25th June will see the Olympic Torch arriving in, and travelling through Sheffield.

Starting from Chapeltown, the torch will pass through Ecclesfield, then Hillsborough and Ecclesall on its journey to the City Centre where evening celebrations will take place at Barkers Pool. Events will be taking place at different times during the day throughout the city at Tudor Square, Devonshire Green, Millennium Square, Hillsborough Park and Don Valley Stadium. Full details of the route and community celebrations can be seen at www.welcometosheffield.co.uk/OTR Sheffield city Council have advised that there may be large crowds along the route so businesses are advised to stock up, consider increasing opening hours or ensure extra staff are on hand as the 25th is likely to be busier than a normal Monday. Although there are no formal road closures, please be aware that traffic could be delayed behind the torch at various intervals throughout the day and businesses are advised to take this into account if expecting deliveries of goods or needing access to property from roads on the route.
