Arthrex UK Celebrating 20 years anniversary

13th September 2016

September will be a time of celebration for Arthrex Ltd, when it marks the twentieth anniversary for the UK Subsidiary of the global medical device company.

Currently a pioneering force in the field of arthroscopy, Arthrex began UK operations in 1996, with its Head Office in Sheffield, extending the vision of company founder and President, Reinhold Schmieding, to provide the best products and surgical procedures to advance minimally invasive orthopaedics worldwide. Since 1981 Arthrex has achieved over three decades of innovation and steady growth, developing over 9,500 innovative products and surgical procedures, advancing medical practice in Sports Medicine and beyond. Known from the start for high quality instrumentation for Sports Medicine practitioners, the company's strong reputation as leader in the medical device industry continues to stem from continuous innovation in product design and development, taking advantage of the latest available technology to enable surgeons to provide the best possible care for their patients, most recently providing 4K imaging solutions and fully integrated operating theatre systems. Complimented by a vast collection of educational material available through their website and training Apps, their commitment to medical education is second to none. This includes the extensive use of the MobileLabTM (the first mobile training centre in Europe) in hospitals throughout the UK and Europe since 2012, a growing Research and Development team, and the Surgical Outcomes SystemTM the world's first registry for orthopaedic surgery, allowing real time analysis of evidence based medicine. In the UK specifically the team has grown from a mere handful of employees in 1996 (some of whom are still with Arthrex) to over 70 staff today. The last five years have shown particularly significant growth and Arthrex Ltd.'s General Manager Terry Byca says -I'm very proud to look back at what we have achieved already but am equally excited about where the future will take us. Arthrex continues to experience unprecedented growth and demand for products throughout the world, reflecting our ongoing commitment to Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients BetterTM, so even with 20 years' experience in the UK, in some ways, we've only just got started.
