Astrea Academy Trust is delighted to be announcing our membership of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce

29th April 2019

Astrea was established in 2015 from the Northern Powerhouse Fund.

We are an academy trust that runs 27 academies in South Yorkshire and in Cambridgeshire. At Astrea, our core commitment is that our academies inspire beyond measure. And whilst this of course includes the highest standards of teaching and learning in the classroom, it goes so much further than that. We believe that our role is to support our pupils in developing as individuals, helping them discover their talents and to reach their full potential in the broadest sense. To do this, we focus on encouraging and nurturing resilience, empathy, aspiration, contribution and happiness in every pupil. We are dedicated to an education with no boundaries so that every child can fly. To help make this a reality, we developed the Astrea Promise. The Promise means that during their time with us, every child will have the opportunity to experience 30 different memorable activities and challenges that have been specifically designed to help develop character. As a forward-thinking family of schools membership of the Sheffield Chamber offers significant opportunities to collaborate and share knowledge. Our students are the future workforce of Sheffield and beyond, and so this partnership highlights the importance of ensuring young people in our region receive the very best education so that they can flourish in their future careers. Dan Laver, Account Manager at Sheffield Chamber said -It's exciting to have the opportunity to work closely with Astrea Academy Trust. Our Chamber President, Steve Manley has themed his presidency around young entrepreneurship and engaging the young people of the city with local businesses. "Over the coming months, we are looking forward to helping Astrea Academy Trust build these essential links in Sheffield, and to introducing the businesses of the city to the amazing work they are already doing.
