26th June 2019

Pupils from Outwood Academy in South Yorkshire will get the inside story on the facilities management industry at a special careers events this summer.

Cinderella Support Services Managing Director Phil will visit students aged 12 to 16 years on the 5th July to give a series of talks titled 'Raising Aspirations'. The talks which are run with local social enterprise Ahead Partnership, form part of the company's ongoing commitment to UK apprenticeships to nurture the talent of the future and provide opportunities for the next generation of business leaders. Phil will speak of his own inspiring career journey which began as an apprentice electrician in 2002, quickly seeing him progress to electrical site supervisor by age 20 for a range of large-scale commercial and public sector projects. He credits his experience as an apprentice with giving him a solid foundation in business and the start of many exciting career opportunities. Transitioning from senior management in the renewable energy sector, Phil joined Cinderella in 2017. He said -It's really important that pupils are aware of their career options from a young age. This is especially relevant now to help bridge the skills gap in our industry. "At Cinderella, we value our apprentice team members who bring so much enthusiasm and commitment to the business. I passionately believe that as an employer and a mentor working in partnership with schools, we can create real opportunities for young people and businesses in our region. Stephanie Burras CBE, Chief Executive of Ahead Partnership, said -I'd like to thank Cinderella Support Services for taking part in our careers activities and Phil Goleby for giving his time to help inspire and inform local students. "We know that these interactions with employers make a real difference to young people's thinking about their futures and Phil's guest speeches at some of our partner schools will spark important ideas and conversations about their future direction.
