BCC Comments on Pothole Repair Funds Announcement

5th January 2015

Commenting on the Department for Transport announcement on the allocation of funding to councils to tackle potholes, Dr Adam Marshall, Executive Director of Policy and External Affairs at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said: "Businesses will be pleased that councils will finally be getting on with the job of getting local roads across England back into shape, now that the money we have long demanded has been allocated.

"While this is a welcome shot in the arm - and something we called for in the Chancellor's autumn statement - the backlog of road repairs remains huge, and more investment will be needed in the years ahead."
