Barber Harrison & Platt (BHP), Yorkshire's leading independent firm of chartered accountants has recently welcomed 14 new trainees and 3 placement students into the firm.

The new recruits include university graduates and school leavers who will be working in the firm's audit, accounts and taxation departments across various specialist sectors. Lisa Leighton, staff partner commented -this year's bumper crop of promising new recruits stems from the continuing growth of the firm. It clearly demonstrates our commitment to the professional development and training of our staff and I look forward to seeing them work with our clients and progress at Barber Harrison & Platt. This year BHP has seen significant growth in its client base including several substantial new client gains. The firm has also recently appointed Hamish Morrison (Corporate Finance) and Amanda Waterhouse (Taxation) as partners. Staff numbers have grown to over 200 people across four offices. Managing Partner John Warner added, -We have won a significant number of new audit and tax advisory appointments over the last 12 months and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow Barber Harrison & Platt based on our expertise and excellent service offering. Our recent successes include BHP Corporate Finance winning the Corporate Finance Firm of the Year award at the South Yorkshire Dealmakers for the fifth year running, whilst our tax team has been shortlisted for the British Accountancy 2012 Audit and Tax Excellence Awards for the second year running.
