Blades appoint new Chief Executive

Sheffield United's off-the-field team has been strengthened.

The Sky Bet League One Club has appointed Stephen Bettis as its new Chief Executive. Mr Bettis has been working in an advisory capacity with the Blades following the departure of Managing Director Mal Brannigan at the end of last year. -We are delighted to make Stephen's role permanent, where he will lead our off-the-field activities and liaise closely with new team manager Chris Wilder, said co-owner Kevin McCabe. Stephen's career commenced in an Accountancy Practice where he qualified as an accountant and obtained several years' experience. He then moved into industry and subsequently became a Finance Director and shareholder of a Property Investment and Development Company, which invested in property throughout Europe for 17 years. Mr Bettis will also become a director of the Club.
